Royal Palace Amsterdam

Dam square is dominated by the Royal Palace Amsterdam, which was previously the town hall.
Designed by the architect Jacob van Campen, in a classicist tradition with Italian influences.
Built during the golden age, from 1648 to 1665. It was the symbol of wealth and prosperity.
The brother of the dictator Napoleon, Louis Bonaparte decided to confiscate the town hall and make it his residence.
The royal family rarely uses the palace. A visit is very worthwhile. The rear of the palace is decorated with a gigantic statue of Atlas, who carries the world on his shoulders.

During our private tours we will pass Dam Square with the Royal Palace as a landmark.
