Aalsmeer ligt ongeveer tien kilometer ten zuiden van Amsterdam. Het begon als een waterrijk, landarm gebied dat zich richtte op de aardbeienteelt, wat leidde tot de bloeiende sierteelt industrie.
Vandaag de dag is Aalsmeer beroemd om Flora Holland, de grootste bloemenveiling ter wereld. Deze bruisende markt, genoemd naar de Romeinse godin van bloemen en de lente, verhandelt dagelijks miljoenen bloemen en planten en beïnvloedt de wereldwijde bloemenhandel.
Bezoekers kunnen de historische tuin van Aalsmeer verkennen, die de evolutie van de Nederlandse tuinbouw laat zien. Bloemen zoals rozen, chrysanten, tulpen en anjers worden in kassen gekweekt vanwege het koude klimaat, wat zorgt voor kwaliteit en schoonheid het hele jaar door.

Keukenhof opens March 20 – May 11 2025 from 8 am to 7.30 pm
In 2024 Keukenhof celebrated it’s 75th anniversary.
The Keukenhof is in Lisse and is about twenty five miles from Amsterdam.
It is considered as the most beautiful flower garden in the world.
In 2022 and 2023 open tickets were available per daily time slots, so there was a maximum number of visitors per day in Keukenhof.
The bulb growers show their best products of the flower bulbs production in Keukenhof Gardens. At the pavilions are many more farmers present at the flower shows.
Wheelchairs are also available at the entrance of Keukenhof to be booked a day in advance via +31 (0)252 465 555 or online
In 2022 there was a collaboration between Keukenhof and Mauritshuis. Mauritshuis inspiration garden, where a replica of Johannes Vermeer’s most famous painting, ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’, is being planted.
The flower exhibition in 2023 was dominated by ‘Flower Classics’. Flowers as classical symbols in art during all centuries.
Central theme last year was its 75th anniversary, 1950 – 2024.

De openingstijden van Keukenhof zijn in 2025 van de 20e maart t/m de 11e mei van 8.00 tot 19.30 uur.
Keukenhof vierde in 2024 haar 75-jarig jubileum.
De Keukenhof ligt in Lisse, ongeveer vijfentwintig kilometer van Amsterdam.
Het wordt beschouwd als de mooiste lente tuin ter wereld.
In 2022 en 2023 waren er open tickets beschikbaar per dagslot, waardoor er een maximaal aantal bezoekers per dag in Keukenhof gold.
Honderd bloembollenkwekers tonen hun mooiste assortiment bloembollen in de Keukenhof en vijfhonderd bloembollenkwekers stellen hun mooiste bloemen beschikbaar voor de bloemenshows.
Rolstoelen zijn ook verkrijgbaar bij de ingang van Keukenhof, een dag van tevoren te reserveren via +31 (0)252 465 555 of online.
In 2022 was er een samenwerking tussen het Haagse museum Mauritshuis en Keukenhof. In de zogenaamde inspiratietuin Mauritshuis, was een replica van het beroemdste schilderij van Jan Vermeer te zien, ‘Meisje met de parel’.
De tuinen van 2023 stonden in het teken van ‘Flower Classics’. Bloemen als klassieke symbolen in de kunst door alle eeuwen heen.
Centraal thema dit jaar was het 75-jarig jubileum, van 1950 tot 2024.

Floriade 2022 Amsterdam Almere took place from the 14th of April to the 9th of October 2022.
A horticultural expo that only takes place once every ten years in the Netherlands.
It showed the power of Dutch landscaping and garden design with the splendor of trees, flowers and plants.
Almere is the youngest city in the Netherlands, in the middle of the Flevopolder, about twenty miles from Amsterdam.
The Expo showed 40 inspiring country presentations, pavilions with sustainable innovations, a cable car over the Floriade park, a spectacular greenhouse complex and art and culture programmes.
‘Growing green cities’ was the theme. It was about the connection between green and the themes ‘water’, ‘biodiversity’, ‘green raw material’, ‘health’, ‘air quality’ and ‘the circular economy’.
In ten years another place will be hosting the Floriade 2032.

Floriade lasted until the 9th of October 2022. Tours to Flevoland but no more tours to Floriade.

Het toonde de kracht van het Nederlandse landschaps- en tuinontwerp met een pracht aan bomen, bloemen en planten.
Almere is de jongste stad van Nederland, midden in de Flevopolder, zo’n dertig kilometer van Amsterdam.
De Expo toonde 40 inspirerende landen presentaties, paviljoens met duurzame innovaties, een kabelbaan over het Floriade park, een spectaculair kassencomplex en kunst- en cultuurprogramma’s.
‘Groeiende groene steden’ was het thema. Het ging over de verbinding tussen groen en de thema’s ‘water’, ‘biodiversiteit’, ‘groene grondstof’, ‘gezondheid’, ‘luchtkwaliteit’ en ‘de circulaire economie’.
Over tien jaar zal er misschien in een andere stad of op een andere plek de Floriade 2032 plaatsvinden.
