Madurodam The Hague is the city to visit if you want to feel like a giant. It is in fact the smallest city in the Netherlands.
In a park of four acres are the most important Dutch buildings in miniature format with a scale of 1 to 25. In this miniature world also move around 16000 mini people, 4500 cars and 58 ships.
Highlights of the miniature city are Schiphol Airport, the Peace Palace, the bulb fields, the port of Rotterdam, the Binnenhof and Holland’s windmills.
Madurodam is named after George Maduro. He was a student from the Hague who played an important role in the resistance against the German occupation. He died in February 1945 in the German concentration camp Dachau.

Madurodam is vernoemd naar George Maduro. Hij was een Haagse student die een belangrijke rol speelde in het verzet tegen de Nazi bezetting. Hij is februari 1945 om het leven gekomen in het Duitse concentratie kamp Dachau.
