Vondelpark Amsterdam

Vondelpark was created in 1864 and is named after the Dutch poet Joost van den Vondel.
The style of Vondelpark Amsterdam is English and it has the illusion of a natural landscape, with a dike and even a meandering stream.
It is one and a half kilometers in length and almost 50 hectares in surface.
Lawns, small lakes, a tea-room and a rose-garden create a idyllic atmosphere right in the heart of Amsterdam.
In the sixties, during the summer, Vondelpark was a destination, day and night, of vagant hippies.
