Vondelpark Amsterdam

Vondelpark was created in 1864 and is named after the Dutch poet Joost van den Vondel.
The style is English and it has the illusion of a natural landscape, with a dike and even a meandering stream.
It is one and a half kilometers in length and almost 50 hectares in surface.
Lawns, small lakes, a tea-room and a rose-garden create a idyllic atmosphere right in the heart of Amsterdam.
In the sixties, during the summer, Vondelpark was a destination, day and night, of vagant hippies.
