Politics at Binnenhof the Hague

seventeenth century painting of the hall of knights at binnenhof the hague

The Binnenhof the Hague is the political heart of the Netherlands where politics is made.
It is a highly representative building complex and the oldest parliament building in the world.
The beautiful building, with in the centre the Hall of Knights, was created as a hunting lodge for Count Willem II and the courtrooms of the Dutch parliament are located in the courtyard. Similar to the American Senate (first chamber, Eerste Kamer) and House of Representatives (second chamber, Tweede Kamer).
Dutch politic means a multi-party system and coalitions of two or more parties had to be made.

On our Delft and the Hague tour we love to talk politics when walking the inner courtyard of the parliament buildings.
